SS24 Genderless Forecast
For this project alongside my group, we were assigned to forecast trends for the 2024 season including looks, textiles, and colors. Taking inspiration from the Italian word Chiaro meaning bright and Oscuro meaning dark to build this genderless forecast.

Starting from the research of the word zeitgeist ( culture climate of the era). With this in mind, we developed a mood board and two color stories for our forecast.
For this part of the project, I felt like we were really able to get down the direction we wanted to go and the inspiration behind it.

One of the main parts that I contributed to was editing the video. For the video, I wanted to play into the dark/light meaning. Such as making the clips dark-lit until the end where life seemingly becomes vibrant again.The clips that were chosen to make the video dark-lit until the end where life seemingly becomes vibrant again. To the music as it takes a dark turn as the video progresses.
The Influence's
The Influence's
For this forecast, we pulled influences from events, designers, and shows that embody the word Chiaroscuro facing troubles and darkness head-on. One of the inspirations was the Balenciaga Fall 22 as the models trekked through a simulated snowstorm runway originally meant to combat climate change, but the creative director turned the runway show into a representation of hope. During this time was the war in Ukraine and wanting to show that love will prevail in the end.

For the textile forecast, my team collaborated to pick out six different textiles with two of them being innovative. Above we have cotton denim a classic textile used for casual denim jeans, but we believe it can be advanced into sophisticated silhouettes. LEAP™ an innovative bio-based leather alternative made from apple remains and juice, a non-traditional way of adding texture to leather with added flexibility because of the cotton backing. GORE-TEX® is the next innovative fabric which turns out to be incredibly functional with waterproof and windproof qualities with continuous advancements we predicted the fabric will be used in more stylish ways.
The Outcome
From this project, I learned so much about what goes into forecasting trends. As it takes a lot of time and research when looking into textiles, colors, and looks. Some of these trends come to life such as the key item fuzzy hats or two of the looks including trench coats and intimates. This project really also showed me how much fun collaborating on projects cans be.
